Residents block over bridge

RANCHI: Angry residents of Nirwaran Pur and Anant Pur localities blocked the railway overbridge connecting main road with Doranda for nearly half an hour and disrupted the road traffic protesting its poor maintenance.
The local residents demanded that the overbridge should be immediately repaired and advertising agency which has taken the contract for its beautification should be removed."The agency has planted trees on the road divider due to which condition of the bridge is getting worse," said Sanjay Sahay, a JD (U) leader who led the protest.
However, SDO Shekher Jamuar arrived at the spot and pacified the agitators. He assured that the matter will be looked into on priority basis and the bridge will be repaired soon.
