Rebel mayors unite, push for coordination

Dhanbad: Sanjeev Singh, the newly elected mayor of Dhanbad, and his counterpart in Hazaribag, Arvind Rana came together on Thursday to advocate for stronger coordination among mayors across the state and to collectively push urban development initiatives at the state level.

During the discussion, the duo emphasised the need for collective functioning among all municipal corporations for better governance.

The meeting has drawn political attention as both mayors were widely perceived as rebel-backed candidates during the recently concluded municipal elections in Jharkhand. Singh contested the election as a rebel candidate against the official line of the BJP. Rana, however, has ideological roots linked to RSS and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.
