Ranchi: A 45-year-old man was arrested on Saturday for allegedly murdering a 62-year-old woman at Belbada village in Ranchi district on Friday, SP (rural), Gaurav Goswami, said on Sunday, adding that the killing was the fallout of a property dispute. The accused was identified as Sundi Munda.
Sundi was arrested from Belbada and a sharp weapon used in the crime was also seized, the SP said.
Police said that Badka Munda, husband of the victim, Mochokani Devi, in his police complaint accused his relative Sundi of murder ing his wife. During investigation, police learnt that there were continuous fights between the accused and the victim over an ancestral property. Angry with Mochokani, the accused allegedly slit her throat with the weapon.
A case was registered in this connection under Section 103(1) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita with Tamar police station.
