Ranchi Police Arrest Interstate Thieves in Ram Navami Procession Phone Snatching Cases
Ranchi: Six interstate miscreants were arrested for their alleged involvement in two theft cases in the city in the past week, police said.
Chutia police arrested Krishna Mali of Uttarakhand besides Bhagirath Singh (23) and Suraj Singh (23) of Purulia district in West Bengal for allegedly stealing 16 mobile phones from participants of the Ram Navami processions held on Friday.
“Many devotees alleged that their phones were stolen at Tapovan Mandir, where all the processions converged. An investigation was launched and the three were arrested from Ranchi railway station on Tuesday. A total of 16 phones were recovered from their possession. During interrogation, they revealed that they visit cities across the country to steal mobile phones,” Ranchi (city) SP Paras Rana said.
Meanwhile, Md Saddam, Adil Ansari, and Ali Reyan were arrested for their alleged involvement in snatching cases under the Argora police station limits during a raid conducted on Wednesday, police added.
