Ranchi: The delay in holding the Jharkhand Teachers’ Eligibility Test (JTET) was brought before the Jharkhand high court on Wednesday.
The court of Justice Ananda Sen heard a petition filed by Ritesh Mahato, who informed the court that the JTET have not been conducted for the past nine years in the state.
The court ordered the education secretary to be present in person on September 25, when it would take up the case again .
Mahato, along with 401 other candidates for JTET, approached the high court, urging it to direct the state govt to hold the exams.
The appointment of govt teachers in primary and elementary/upper primary schools is pending for long.
