Ranchi Child Drowns in Encroached Drain: DLSA Investigates, Promises Action

Ranchi: Acting on the direction of Jharkhand State Legal Service Authority, a District Legal Service Committee (DLSA) team on Wednesday visited the family of the two-year-old boy Mohammad Farhan who died on Tuesday after he and his elder brother slipped and fell into an encroached drain near Maulana Azad colony in Ranchi. However, the elder brother Arhan was rescued. The DLSA team led by its secretary Rakesh Roushan assured the family that it would be covered under various beneficial schemes of the state govt. The secretary added that he would talk to the concerned authority for construction of embankment along the drain so that such instance does not take place again.
