Ranchi Administration Orders Swift Removal of Durga Puja Pandals to Alleviate Traffic Congestion

Ranchi district administration has ordered Durga Puja committees to dismantle temporary pandals, gates, and archways within two days to ease traffic congestion. This directive follows a Jharkhand High Court order mandating the removal of such structures and restoration of land post-puja. The administration emphasized public interest and smooth traffic flow in its communiqué.

Ranchi: The district administration on Wednesday directed Durga Puja committees to remove the temporary pandals, gates and archways constructed in their respective areas within two days, as the structures continue to choke the city’s traffic flow.The administration issued the directive in light of an order of the Jharkhand high court issued on Sept 23, giving clear directions that after completion of puja, all pandals and archways should be removed and the land should be levelled as before.“In view of public interest and smooth traffic flow, all presidents and secretaries of puja committees should ensure that all temporary structures are removed within the stipulated period and the concerned places are levelled and properly arranged,” stated an official communiqué issued by the district administration.
