Railway conducts 120 km/hr speed trials on Lohardaga-Tori route

RANCHI: The

Ranchi railway division

of South

Eastern

Railways (SER) on Friday conducted speed trials of up to 120 kilometers an hour on a 26 km stretch between Narkopi and

Lohardaga

railway stations.

The trials were conducted in the presence of Purnendu S Mishra, the

general

manager of South Eastern Railways (SER), during his annual inspection of the division.

Narkopi and Lohardaga stations are a part of the 111 km railway track being commissioned between Ranchi and Tori. Once complete, the route is expected to reduce travel time between Ranchi and New Delhi by three hours.

A statement issued by the Ranchi division in the evening said Mishra inspected several passenger amenities in Ranchi railway station and took trials of the new e-toilet, to be opened for public use in coming weeks.
