PTR village woman injured in animal attack

Daltonganj: A 55-year-old widow, identified as Basmatiya Devi of Vijaypur village under the Garu east range of the Palamu Tiger Reserve (PTR), was hurt by a wild animal on Saturday around 6 am.
The woman said she was out for nature’s call a few meters away from her house when she was attacked by a leopard.
However, ranger (Garu east) Umesh Kumar Dubey said, “It appears that she was attacked by a hynae.The woman has injuries on her ear lobe and scratches on one leg.”
Basmatiya was administered anti-rabies shot.
