Daltonganj: A 25-year-old woman from
Bihar, who was found injured and unconscious at a remote location in Jharkhand’s Palamu district nearly 250 km from here home earlier this month, was reunited with her family members on Thursday. On September 10, a cattle herder spotted a woman lying unconscious with multiple injuries Hurumoor area of the district and informed the police. Responding immediately, the cops admitted her to a mission hospital in nearby Tumbagara. The woman regained consciousness two days later and identified herself as Julie Kumari, a resident of Jamui in Bihar.
V K Rana, the officer in-charge of Satbarwa police station, said, “The woman came from a poor family. When we asked how she got here, she could not explain. When asked about her assailants, the woman said a man had promised her a good wage as a domestic help and got her here.” Rana said based on her statement, an FIR was filed under section 109 of BNSS against unidentified individuals who harmed and abandoned her to die unknown.
Julie was eventually discharged from the hospital on Tuesday. “Palamu police bore all expenses of her treatment,” SP Reeshma Rameshan said. On September 10, a cattle herder spotted a woman lying unconscious in Hurumoor area under Satbarwa police station limits. She had multiple injuries. The police immediately admitted her to a nearby hospital where she regained consciousness two days later.
Satbarwa police initially took her to her address in Deoghar, where they discovered her relatives had moved to Jamui, Bihar. A woman officer, Savita Kumari, did not lose hope and travelled to Bihar and took help of her counterparts in Garhi police station to trace Julie’s family.
