BOKARO: District police on Friday busted an inter-state gang of vehicle robbers by arresting six criminals, who have looted an earthmover near Bermo railway station recently.
The criminals were arrested from Iccha village under Rajnagar police station of Kharsawa district. "Police also recovered the looted the dumper near a dam in Iccha," said Bokaro SP Kuldeep Dwivedi.
The criminals have been identified as Ratan Tati, Vinod Singh, Ajit Pradhan, Shanker Tanti, Raju Munda and Manoj Giri. Of the arrested, Ratan, Ajit, Shanker, Manoj are resident of Kharsawa while Vinod and Raju belong to Bermo. There were 12 criminals who have triggered the loot in which six are absconding.
Dwivedi said the criminals have looted the earthmover from its driver Alam Khan and the conductor when they were returning home after unloading ashes in the Ghandhinagar area in the evening. They tied the driver and the conductor with a rope and fled leaving them in a jungle.
However, in the morning, they somehow freed themselves and informed the owner and lodged an FIR with Ghandhinagar police station.
"We are investigating to divulge criminal history of the arrested miscreants. The criminals during preliminary interrogation have disclosed that it was Shanker and Ajit who had hatched the plan to loot and sell the earthmover," said Dwivedi.
