PM to inaugurate 3 amrit bharat stations in J’khand on May 22

Kolkata: Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi would virtually inaugurate the revamped Govindpur Road railway station under the Ranchi railway division on May 22, Ranchi divisional officials said on Monday.Located on the Ranchi-Rourkela railway route, the station has been revamped under the Amrit Bharat station scheme. The Shankarpur and the Rajmahal railway stations in the state would also be inaugurated by PM Modi on May 22, the railways said. "The amenities include a station building, waiting halls for passengers, ticket counters, high platforms, platform sheds, foot-over-bridges, better lighting, drinking water, ramps for differently abled, wider approach roads, and better parking facilities," the railways said.Speaking to TOI, Ranchi divisional railway manager Jasmeet Singh Bindra said, "The station complex was revamped at a net cost of Rs 6.65 crore. The remodification work commenced in 2023."A total of 57 railway stations are being redeveloped across the state. Besides Govindpur Road, 14 railway stations across the Ranchi railway division are being remodified. Prominent among them include Lohardaga, Muri, and Barkakana. "All are expected to be completed by December," Bindra said.Ranchi and Hatia railway stations are also being redeveloped as world-class facilities at a net cost of around Rs 1,000 crore. These two, however, are unlikely to be completed before 2027.
