RANCHI: A medical board of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (Rims) on Tuesday got Pankaj Mishra, chief minister Hemant Soren’s representative in Barhet assembly constituency, examined by a psychiatrist owing to his behaviour.

Sources said that Mishra’s behaviour showed changes almost every evening leading the doctors to take the help of a psychiatrist.

Mishra who was undergoing interrogation by Directorate of Enforcement in connection with illegal mining and money laundering, was admitted in Rims on July 29 with stomach ache.

Rims has formed a team comprising head of department (HoD) of surgery, Sheetal Malua, HoD of medicine Dr Vidyapati, HoD of critical care Dr Pradeep Bhattacharya along with Dr Vinay Pratap to examine his health.

Public relation officer of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr Rajiv Ranjan, said, “The patient is stable. The medical board has studied some of the test reports and has advised further tests. The team also called a psychiatrist to examine him. The final decision on his health and line of treatment would be taken only after all the reports come.”
