Over 95% students pass JAC Class 10 board exam
Ranchi: A total of 95.27 per cent of students passed the annual Class 10 board examinations, the results of which were declared by the Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) on Thursday.
Compared to 2025, the state witnessed close to four per cent increase in pass ratio this time. In terms of students, a total of 4,22,109 took the exam of which 4,02,178 have passed. It includes 2,15,066 girls and 1,87,112 boys, JAC said in a statement. In other words, pass percentage of girls remained 95.51 whereas boys stood at 95.01.
Among the districts, Gumla, Dumka and Pakur emerged in the top three by scoring pass percentage of 99.32, 99.02 and 98.56 respectively.
As many as 12 students were declared joint toppers with four students scoring identical marks in first, second and third category respectively. The state toppers hailed from Hazaribag, Simdega and Ranchi districts.
Congratulating the students, JAC chairman Natwa Hansdak said that they have ensured that the results are announced on time and are error free. In a statement, he also acknowledged the coordinated efforts of district education authorities, principals, and examination staff in ensuring the smooth and transparent conduct of the examination.
“Education is a continuous process, and every effort one puts today will lay solid foundation future success. Students who have been placed under marginal or absent categories must utilise upcoming academic opportunities and work consistently for improvement,” he said.
Taking to X, chief minister Hemant Soren congratulated all the students who cleared the examination. “Those who could not achieve results as per their expectations should not get disheartened and should move on and put in more efforts in the future. The state govt is continuously striving to ensure quality education for everyone,” he said.
Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC) director Shashi Ranjan said that result is the outcome of focused interventions which education department introduced across the state. “Special emphasis was laid on districts where learning outcomes had been lagging. We strengthened structured lesson plans, conducted regular remedial classes, and ensured periodic assessments to closely track student progress. This consistent, data-driven approach has played a key role in improving overall academic performance.”
