NTPC gifts 9.2cr security camp to CRPF in Chatra

Chatra: NTPC, which owns 1980MW North Karnpura Power plant in the industrial town of Chatra, has constructed a state-of-the-art security camp for CRPF at a cost of Rs 9.2 crore.
Superintendent of police (SP) Rakesh Ranjan on Wednesday inaugurated the facility in the presence of project head of the power plant, Tajinder Gupta, and other NTPC officials.
The camp has been constructed on an area of 16,250 square feet with all modern facilities. It has four blocks consisting of a 120-bed dormitory, a kitchen, dining space, armoury, helipad, playground, meeting hall, and other facilities. It also has a residence for the assistant commandant.
SP Ranjan praised NTPC and said the facility would benefit the forces.
The deputy general manager (DGM) of the power plant, Dhiraj Gupta, told TOI that earlier NTPC had constructed a camp for the CRPF. But as that area comes under the reservoir limits, the new facility was constructed keeping in mind their requirements, he informed.
