Ranchi: Though the southwest monsoon has started withdrawing from some parts of west Rajasthan early this year, the same will not happen in Jharkhand. According to the Ranchi met office, there is no symptom of early withdrawal of monsoon from the state. “This year, the monsoon arrived on June 17, which was normal. Similarly, the withdrawal of monsoon will happen as per the normal date,” head of Ranchi met office Abhishek Anand said.
“The monsoon will withdraw from Jharkhand around Oct 7 which is very close to the normal date of its withdrawal, Oct 10,” he said. The southwest monsoon started withdrawing from some parts of west Rajasthan on Sunday against the normal date of Sept 17. For west Rajasthan it was an early withdrawal. The weather office predicted cloudy and rainy days across the state till Sept 19. It also said that heavy rainfall is likely to occur over eastern and adjoining central parts. Thunderstorms/lightning accompanied with gusty wind (max speed: 30-40 kmph) are likely, it added.
