Massive Fire Destroys 29 Shops in Hazaribag Market Overnight, Causes Rs 50 Lakh Loss

Hazaribag: A fire broke out in the intervening night of October 28 and 29 at daily market in Hazaribag gutting around 29 makeshift shops mostly selling vegetable behind sadar police station, said Subhash Kumar Singh, officer in-charge of sadar police on Wednesday. No casualty was reported. He, however, said that the cause of fire is under probe. Vendors have estimated a loss of around Rs 50 lakh but police haven’t yet pegged any figure. The OC said that the fire was controlled within few hours in the morning.
