Man shot at on NH-98 flyover construction site

Daltonganj: Three unidentified bike-borne miscreants shot at a 42-year-old worker at the NH-98 flyover construction site at Chaparwar under Pipra police station in Palamu on Tuesday noon. The victim is identified as Sheoji Das. The incident is the result of extortion demands to the construction company of the flyover and create terror among workers there, sources said. “The incident occurred at 12 pm. Das has been hurt in his right leg below the knee. The miscreants fired three rounds and the first one hit the boulders there. The second shot was in the air and the third shot hit the victim,” sub-inspector of Pipra police station Abhay Kumar said.Das was rushed to the Mednirai Medical College Hospital. Surgeon Sushil Pandey, who treated him, said, “The bullet exited from the leg. The patient has no neuro muscular injury. His vitals are normal and he is stable.” Police said a probe is on. tnn
