Man injured in celebratory firing at friend’s wedding

Ranchi: A 25-year-old man, identified as Gulshan Pandey, was injured in a celebratory firing at a wedding reception in Ranchi late on Monday night. The victim has been admitted in to a local hospital where he is stated to be out of danger at present.Officer-in-charge of local police station, Vimal Kindo said, "Gulshan was attending the wedding of his friend Anshu Singh near Diamond Maidan in Dhurwa. At around 10.15 pm, when everybody was dancing at the reception, people heard a gunshot and Gulshan fell down." A chaos ensued at the site even as the victim was taken to a private hospital.Police said that Gulshan has received injury on his back and has undergone an operation.The person who fired the bullet is being identified, police said. The arms used in the firing was also illegal, they added.
