Chatra: A man was arrested with 3.26 kg of wet opium in the district on Wednesday. The accused Nandkishore Ganjhu was held by a special team from his home in Tihiti Bhargaon village in Kunda police station limits. The raid, carried out based on a tip-off, was led by Simari sub divisional police officer Shubham Bhau Saheb Nagar Gojhe.Chatra SP Animesh Nathani said Ganjhu operated from his house and was planning to dispatch the consignment when the raid took place.“The accused was arrested on the spot and sent to judicial custody after a case was registered under the NDPS Act.” Nathani said besides dismantling the drug trafficking network, efforts are underway to uproot their financial network as well.
