Man Arrested for Beating Father-in-Law to Death Over Dowry Dispute in Dumka

Dumka: Police arrested a man on Sunday on charges of beating his father-in-law to death for refusing to give a tractor as dowry.

The accused, Sudhir Kumar Choudhary, attacked his father-in-law, Ravindra Kapri (60), when he came to visit his daughter at the accused’s house at Govindpur (Kadiya Tola) of the district on Saturday. The victim was rushed to the local community health centre by the police, who reached the village upon receiving information about the assault. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment at a Deoghar-based hospital on Saturday evening.



Malti Devi, the wife of the victim, accused her son-in-law and his family members, who live in the same village, of brutally assaulting her husband, leading to his death.
