For some time, therefore, the police station will operate from a nearby building.”
Sources said that the ASI is aged 54 while the other cop is 47 years old. Officials said that three family members of the ASI have also tested positive, along with one civilian. “All six are asymptomatic and stable but have been shifted to a Covid hospital,” civil surgeon Vijay Kumar said.
The SP added that the ASI’s son had come to Lohardaga from Gaya on June 29. “He was in home quarantine since then till he tested positive. Others who came in contact with him, including the ASI, too, turned out to be positive,” she said.
Meanwhile, about half a dozen health officials in the district, including Lohardaga civil surgeon, went into home quarantine. Kumar said, “On Friday, a supplier who came to our hospital tested positive for Covid-19. So some of us who came in contact with him have opted for home quarantine. My report, though, has turned out to be negative.”
