Justice A K Rai takes oath as J’khand HC judge

Ranchi: The Acting Chief Justice of the Jharkhand high court, Shree Chandrashekhar, administered the oath of office to Justice Arun Kumar Rai as an additional judge of the high court on Monday. Justice Rai was appointed after his candidature was cleared by the Supreme Court collegium on January 18.Justice Rai is a senior judicial officer and was last posted as the Ranchi Judicial Commissioner heading the Ranchi District Court. He has also been the member secretary of the Jharkhand Legal Services Authority. Justice Rai joined the judiciary as a judicial officer in May 2012 and has served as a judicial officer in various capacities across the state. Prior to joining the judicial services, Rai was an advocate and had practiced for 15 years in Delhi in the trial courts and the high court — both civil and criminal.He is well known for his administrative capabilities besides his acumen of law.
