DUMKA: A 35-year-old Adivasi woman on Wednesday lodged a complaint with the Muffassil police station against one known and sixteen unknown people for allegedly raping her on Tuesday evening.

The complainant, a mother of five, said she was intercepted by the group while she was on her home from a local haat with her husband and children.

She said the men held her husband and children hostage at an abandoned place and took turns to rape her. The one man she identified is Ram Mohli, who lives in her parents’ village, she told senior police officers, including DIG Sudarshan Mandal and SP Ambar Lakda

"The woman lives in Kathikund and had come to her parents’ home with her family to help them harvest paddy,” Mandal said, adding that she was frequently contradicting her statement and police are investigating to ascertain the facts. Police have registered the FIR and her medical examination report is awaited. No arrest has been made in this connection yet.
