Jharkhand Tourism Boost: Purvodaya Initiative & Electric Buses to Drive Growth
Ranchi: Jharkhand’s tourism sector may be headed for renewed momentum after the Union Budget 2026–27 placed special emphasis on Purvodaya, announcing the development of five tourism destinations across the five eastern states, along with the induction of 4,000 electric buses to improve regional connectivity. Jharkhand is among the states identified under the Purvodaya framework.Known for its waterfalls, hills, forest trails, religious centres and tribal heritage, Jharkhand offers a wide tourism spectrum. Tourism stakeholders believe that with focused central support, one of these circuits could evolve into a model destination in the coming years.
