Ranchi: Fourteen personnel from
Jharkhand Police, including two IG and as many DIG ranked officials, were awarded by the Union ministry for home affairs (MHA) for flushing out Maoists from their key hideouts in the state.
The Kendriya Grihamantri Dakshata Award 2025, police sources here said, were handed out for the operations which were carried out between January 12 and April 4 this year. These operations led to the wiping out of Maoists from Jhumra and Lugu Hills in Bokaro district and Parasnath Hills in Giridih district. All these places had been Maoist bastions for decades. An MHA notification issued on Friday said IGs Amol Venukant Homkar and Michel Raj, DIGs Indrajeet Mahtha and Surendra Kumar Jha, SP Manoj Swargiya , deputy commandant Mithilesh Kumar, sub-inspectors Jitendra Kumar and Mantu Kumar and constables Dinbandhu Shekhar, Paras Kumar Verma, Vikas Karamkar, Bhagirath Rajwar, Shivnandan Hansda and Ajay Mehta have been awarded.

Raj stated, “Any award for service is important for us. The MHA award would inspire us and others to perform their duties better.”
