Ranchi: Arun Singh, the national general secretary of the
BJP and an incumbent MP, on Thursday claimed that Jharkhand is becoming a haven for terrorists under the CM
Hemant Soren led INDIA govt. Singh’s comment came days after a suspected terrorist was arrested from a lodge in Ranchi. Singh also criticised the Congress and its leader of spreading lies to mislead people without any substance.
In Ranchi to attend the BJP’s ongoing ‘Seva Pakhwada’ campaign, Singh, while talking to the media at the party office, said, “While PM Narendra Modi is striving for overall development of the country, communities, villages and the likes, the Hemant govt here is promoting loot, scams, illegal mining, and appeasement politics. Development in the state is completely stalled, roads are broken, and the electricity system is in disarray. Due to its appeasement politics, terrorists are finding safe havens in the state.”
Raking up the police encounter of Godda-based socio-political activist Surya Hansda last month, Singh claimed he was killed for opposing illegal mining and the stone mafia in the region. "Jharkhand is a unique state where scam files go missing and scamsters call the shot," he said.
Singh further said, “The People did not vote for the Hemant govt for looting and plundering but to fulfil its promises. Yet, this govt is deceiving them once again.”
Taking a dig at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, he said, “He considers himself an uncrowned king. He is continuously attacking constitutional institutions and is the person who lies the most. When he and his party wins, the voter list and EVMs remain fine, and when they lose, they turn faulty.”
Reacting to it, JMM’s general secretary Vinod Pandey said, “The Jharkhand govt has set new benchmarks in development and social justice over the past five and a half years under CM Soren. This is why people voted him back with a bigger majority. After losing its base, the BJP’s only job now is to keep ranting and level baseless allegations.”
