Gumla: “Our attention is on export, quality of products and contribution of MSME in the GDP. The MSME sector has a significant role in terms of its contribution to the GDP and overall export from the country," said Union minister of state for micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) Bhanu Pratap Singh Verma on Friday.
He was addressing a National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) conclave in Gumla.
The maiden event aimed to promote entrepreneurship among SC-ST people and spread awareness on NSSH and other schemes of the MSME ministry.
The minister said, "The MSME sector not only provides huge employment opportunities but helps industrialization of rural and background areas." He said Jharkhand is endowed with a wide variety of natural resources and one of the most attractive destinations for setting up of mineral-based units here."
Impressed over seeing a huge turnout of aspiring and existing SC and ST entrepreneurs, Verma, "People in Gumla have shown great confidence. He hoped through this conclave SC-ST entrepreneurs will explore new thoughts and mutual opportunities for entrepreneurship.”
Joint secretary of the ministry Mercy Epao briefed the meet on various initiatives being implemented under the NSSH for SC-ST schemes. The meet was also addressed by secretary of Jharkhand industries department Jitendra Kumar Singh, Gumla ex-MLA Shivshankar Oraon, DC Karn Satyarthi and Jharkhand NSSH branch head Kiran Maris Tiru.
