Jharkhand Excise Constable Exam Paper Leak: BJP Demands CBI Probe Amidst JSSC Denial
Ranchi: A BJP delegation led by state president Aditya Sahu met governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar on Tuesday and demanded a CBI probe into the alleged paper leak of Jharkhand Excise Constable Competitive Examination, 2023.
Ahead of the exam on Sunday, 166 people, including 159 aspirants and members of a solver’s gang, were arrested on charges of attempting to adopt “unfair” means and forgery. But the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), which conducts the exam, claimed there was no paper leak.
A letter, signed by Sahu and leader of opposition Babulal Marandi, among others, stated, “Despite police arresting over 150 individuals for the excise constable exam question paper leak, the JSSC continues to deny that any paper leak occurred during this examination. In light of the situation, the BJP appeals that a CBI inquiry should be ordered into all major exams conducted by the JSSC and the Jharkhand Public Service Commission over the past six years, to put a permanent end to the recurring irregularities.”
The delegation submitted a seven-point charter of demands, including a thorough investigation into potential collusion between the gang and the JSSC.
“The network of the ‘solver gangs’ identified by the police should be investigated at an inter-state level to expose their entire operational mechanism. In light of the injustice suffered by approximately 300,000 candidates affected by these irregularities, strict punitive action must be ensured against the culprits,” the letter added.Get real-time updates and result insights on the CBSE 12 Result 2026.
