Jharkhand Electoral Roll Revision: CEO Directs Booth Officer Sticker Verification & Voter Mapping

Ranchi: State’s chief electoral officer (CEO) K Ravi Kumar has said that officers should visit their respective areas and review whether stickers with information of booth-level officers (BLOs) have been affixed on houses or not.

He said that during the door-to-door sticker pasting by BLOs, voters who were not mapped from the previous special intensive revision should be identified and their mapping should be carried out.

Kumar said that officers should share the soft copy of the sketch map of polling stations with all recognised political parties.




While holding an online meeting with deputy electoral officers of all districts at Nirvachan Sadan on Friday, he said that the goal should be to ensure that not a single eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.

The remaining mapping work should be completed at the earliest. Along with this, an intensive check should also be conducted to ensure that no incorrect mapping was done, so that there are minimum logical discrepancies during the special intensive revision (SIR) process, the CEO said.

Kumar said that the house number, family members who have completed 18 years of age, and the name of the head of the household must be recorded in the BLO register. The BLOs should also assign notional numbers to houses that do not have numbers.

“Duplicate voter identity cards in the list of absent, shifted, dead and duplicate (ASDD) voters should be 100% identified and removed through the system so that the intensive revision can be facilitated,” Kumar said, adding that the ASDD list must be authenticated by booth level agents (BLAs) of recognised political parties.

He also said that through ‘book a call’ feature, 100% callback should be ensured within 48 hours for calls from voters, and their issues should be resolved in a timely manner. Joint chief electoral officer Subodh Kumar, training nodal officer Dev Das Datta, deputy electoral officer Dheeraj Thakur, along with deputy electoral officers of all districts, attended the meet virtually.
