LOHARDAGA: JD(U) legislator from Chhatarpur assembly constituency Sudha Chaudhury, has alleged that the ministers in the state were only keeping themselves busy by pursuing matters of personal interests. Choudhury leveled the allegation while addressing a district-level party workers' meet here on Saturday. The meeting, presided over by JD(U) district president Prakash Mahto, focused on organizational extension of the party to all blocks and panchayats of the district.
It was Chaudhury's first meeting with party workers in Lohardaga after her appointment as party in-charge for Lohardaga, Gumla and Latehar districts.

The MLA said although the JD(U) was part of the ruling alliance in Jharkhand, it was not satisfied with the work of the state government. "We believe that ministers in the government from different parties have failed to address people's grievances as they are busy in pursuing matters of personal interests," she said.
She said the party swould contest all the 81 assembly constituencies of the state in the next assembly elections (announced earlier by Bihar CM and JD(U) leader Nitish Kumar at the party's Dhanbad convention on July 26) with an aim to develop Jharkhand like Bihar.
Reviewing the ongoing membership drive of the party in the district, Chaudhury announced the JD(U)'s programmes to highlight the " anti-people" policies of the UPA government at the Centre.
"Party workers will stage a block-level dharna on September 14 and a district-level dharna on October 4 in the state to highlight failures of the UPA-2 government," she said.
JD(U) district general secretary Chandrashekhar Prasad Mehta admitted that the party had failed to make its base in the district in the last 15 years as it did not field a candidate from the Lohardaga assembly constituency. He said with the JD(U) now deciding to contest all the assembly seats in the state in future elections, it had reenergized the party workers and the membership drive was getting good response.
