The city police have arrested gangster Md. Salauddin on Wednesday in connection with the loot and murder of transport firm employee Pappu Yadav.

JAMSHEDPUR: The city police have arrested gangster Md. Salauddin on Wednesday in connection with the loot and murder of transport firm employee PappuYadav.
The victim, Yadav, who was employed to collect money from the clients on behalf of his Rajasthan Jharkhand Transport (RJT) company, was shot dead near Chepa bridge under Azadnagar police station area on the night of May 22, 2013.

The cash Rs.4lakh, which the victim was carrying with himself, was also looted from him before he was assassinated.
"Salauddin is the main accused in the Pappu Yadav murder case," said superintendent of police (city), Karthik S to the reporters announcing the arrest of Salauddin.
According to the police, Salauddin, 45, a history sheeter who has been to the jail in connection with his involvement in several criminal
cases in the past, fled the city after committing the heinous crime.
The police have claimed that Salauddin was arrested by the Azadnagar police this morning, following a tip-off but it is learnt that he was under police detention for the last few days.
The police had recently recovered the motor-cycle and the Scorpio vehicle that were used in executing the crime.
According to police sources, Salauddin, resident of Azadnagar, Mango, is also suspected in the trader Vinod Agarwal murder case who was shot dead on June 21 night in Burmamines locality while on way to his Golmuri residence."Investigation into the matter is still on," said Karthik when asked whether gangster Salauddin is a suspect in the Agarwal murder case
