Illegal Liquor Manufacturer Arrested in Ranchi Namkum: Spurious Liquor Seized

Ranchi: A notorious illegal liquor manufacturer and smuggler was arrested in the Namkum area on Tuesday in a major crackdown by the excise department.

The team acting on a tip-off conducted a raid at the accused Naresh Singhania’s residence and recovered a significant amount of spurious liquor, and chemicals used in manufacturing the liquor, an official of the excise department, on condition of anonymity, said.

The official added that the accused has been sent to jail following the arrest.

However, repeated calls to Ranchi assistant excise commissioner Uma Shankar Singh to get details of the seizure went unanswered.
