Students of Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM-R) have taken the initiative to get the best brains for the local version of TED talk by inviting 16 eminent personalities from across the country and abroad.

RANCHI: Students of Indian Institute of Management Ranchi (IIM-R) have taken the initiative to get the best brains for the local version of TED talk by inviting 16 eminent personalities from across the country and abroad.
Set to be held at the SAIL auditorium on Sunday, speakers would be given approximately 18 minutes each to to share their success stories with the audience.
P V Praneeth, chief organiser of TEDx, said TED is a not-for-profit organization devoted to 'Ideas Worth Spreading', which started as a conference in California 26 years ago."
Strictly adhering to the format, IIM-R has been organizing TEDx for the past few years.
"At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where 'x'signifies independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized," Praneeth added.
Major attraction of the event is its speakers where achievers from all walks of life have been invited. According to the meticulously drawn list of speakers Prof.Tatagat Tulsi, Child Prodigy, youngest Indian to complete his doctorate at an age of 22 and now a professor at IIT Bombay, Dia Mirza Bollywood actor and First Indian to wind miss Asia pacific after a gap of 27 years, Myshkin Ingawale PhD from IIM Calcutta and Founder of Bio sense technologies, a firm developing low cost affordable solutions for rural India are likely to grab attention of the audience.
Among other speakers are Brinda Karat, writer actor and first woman polit bureau member of CPM; Varad Pande, officer on special duty to Union rural development minister; Vijaylakshmy Subramainam, eminent Carnatic musician and vocalist, Medha Samant, founder of Annapurna Pariwar, a microfinance organization focusing on empowerment of women in rural India; Anand Damani, founder of Briefcase, expert at using neuro management and consultant to companies like Cadbury, L'oreal and Asian Paint, Dr.Jacob, expert in marine bio diversity and activist in SethuSamudram Project, etc. tnnSwami Sarvapriyananda, an expert in delivering talks on how spirituality is relevant in today's globalized society, Ani Choying Drolma, Nepalase Singer and Buddhist Nun, Emma Dawson Varughese, renowned author from UK, Swarathma, a socially conscious band of performers from Bangalore, Diwakar Shukla, managing partner, Ogilvy Public Relations Worldwide and P P Sharma, former chief secretary of Jharkhand.
