IG suspends Chas Muffasil OC in land row case

BOKARO: The inspector general (IG) of North Chotanagpur on Sunday suspended the officer in-charge of the Chas Mufassil police station over allegations of inaction in a recent land dispute case.IG Michael Raj S said, "OC Amit Kumar Rai has been suspended with immediate effect. Assistant sub-inspector (ASI) Sushil Mishra and a constable have been transferred to the police line. Both parties that lay claim to the disputed plot, situated near the Chas mufassil police station, engaged in a strife recently. A cow belonging to the current occupant was reportedly forcibly released from the contested land by the opposite party while police officers remained mere spectators. The aggrieved party filed a formal complaint with senior officials, prompting an investigation." Bokaro SP Manoj Swargyari declined to speak on the issue.
