H’bag treasury scam accused denied bail

Hazaribag: Two accused in the Rs 27-crore treasury scam were denied bail by a court in separate hearings in the past 48 hours. On Wednesday, Kajal Kumari, the wife of alleged mastermind Shambhu Kumar, was denied bail by the court of Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Kumari Nikita. The same court had on Tuesday rejected the bail plea of key accused Dhirendra Singh. The scam came to light on April 8 following a data analysis by the state govt's Directorate of Treasuries and Institutional Finance. TNN
