Hazaribag: The Hazaribag district civil surgeon, Dr Krishna Kumar, and Hazaribag Medical College and Hospital (HMCH) superintendent K K Lal were removed from their posts on Tuesday for lapses after a 40-year-old migrant worker died mysteriously on Monday night at a quarantine centre set up at the new Hazaribag stadium.
Confirming the development, deputy commissioner Bhuvanesh Pratap Singh told TOI, “Both have been removed from their posts with immediate effect.
Dr Sanjay Jaiswal has been appointed as the new civil surgeon while the HMCH superintendent is replaced by Dr Sanjay Sinha, head of department of medicine at HMCH.”
Singh added that the state health department had taken strong exception after the lapses were detected on the part of the two officials.
Mystery shrouds over the
death of the migrant who hailed from Burwan village under Ichak police station. He had returned from Gurgaon and was put in a quarantine centre on May 16. Singh said a probe has been instituted to find out the cause of his death. He added, “SDO Megha Bharadwaj has been asked to conduct a detailed probe into the matter.”
