Hazaribag Triple Murder: Police Investigate River Body Disposal, Abduction Claims

Hazaribag: A day after health minister Irfan Ansari met SP Aman Kumar in the April 27 recovery of three bodies, including two women, from the Dandaha river in Pauta forest area, police on Wednesday said they are also investigating if the victims were killed elsewhere and the bodies thrown into the river to destroy evidence.The deceased were identified as Khushi Parveen alias Washifa Naz alias (19) and her cousins Saniya Parveen (19) and Adil Hussain (27). All three had gone missing from Khusi’s home located at Pauta village on April 23. Khushi’s marriage was scheduled on May 19. She had invited Saniya and Adil home for lunch. All three went missing after they stepped out of the house, reportedly for a walk to a nearby orchard.Claiming the trio was abducted and later killed, Khushi’s father Wasid Ansari on Tuesday lodged an FIR with the Mufassil police against eight persons — YouTuber Sohail Ahmad, Ishrat Bano, Jaibunnisha, Sabiha Bano, Nusrat Bano, Md Shahid Ansari, Maulana Jamshed, and Farzana Parveen.YouTuber Sohail had, on April 24, rang up for Rs 50,000 while warning that the victims would be harmed if the demand was not met, Wasid further alleged in the FIR.A special investigation team (SIT) constituted by SP Kumar is examining victims’ mobile locations, call detail records, and conducting spot verification.Sources said postmortem examination indicated that water was not present in the stomach of the trio, suggesting they were killed before being thrown into the river. Injury marks, particularly around the knee region, also point towards assault. Viscera samples of the three deceased have been sent to the FSL laboratory in Ranchi on Wednesday.However, police officials said they were yet to receive the final postmortem examination report, which would help them to identify the exact cause of death. All angles, including abduction, murder, possible love affair, honour killing, or enmity, are under probe. SP Aman Kumar, ASP Amit Kumar, and Sadar SDPO Amit Anand visited the crime scene on Wednesday.SDPO Amit Anand said, “Raids are on and arrests will be made soon. The exact sequence of events will be clear after the postmortem report.”Saniya had recently secured admission to Dumka Agriculture College, while Khushi was a student of K B Women’s College, Hazaribag. Adil was also pursuing his studies in the city.
