Hazaribag DC Shashi Prakash Singh has ordered the health department to be on high alert for the Chhath festival. Medical officers met to strategize emergency responses, particularly for drowning incidents at water bodies. All health centers are to remain fully functional, with ambulances equipped and burn wards operational 24/7 to ensure prompt medical assistance throughout the festivities.

Hazaribag: In view of the upcoming Chhath festival, Hazaribag deputy commissioner (DC) Shashi Prakash Singh on Friday directed the health department to remain on alert and ensure adequate medical and emergency response arrangements across the district.Acting on the DC’s instructions, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of civil surgeon, Hazaribag, Dr Ashok Kumar, attended by medical officers from all blocks. The meeting focused on strategies for providing prompt medical assistance in case of emergencies, especially incidents of drowning at ponds and water bodies during the festival.Kumar instructed all CHCs and PHCs to remain fully functional and prepared to respond immediately to any emergency situation. The civil surgeon further directed all medical officers to send ambulance availability details from their respective areas to the district control room immediately, ensure all ambulances are equipped with oxygen and kept in full readiness, and burn wards are operational 24/7.
