Hazaribag: A 35-year-old employee with a Gaya-based private organisation and resident of Budhi village in Gaya district was found dead on Sunday at a hotel in Barhi block, where a group of the company employees had gathered for a party, police said.
The deceased, identified as Manikant Solanki alias Manjay Kumar, worked as a salesman with Magadh Motor, a Tata Motors dealers shop in Gaya.
Around 40 employees had travelled to Jharkhand from Gaya to attend a party at a hotel located on the Hazaribag Road. All attendees retired to their rooms after the party on Saturday night. Manikant was found dead the next morning. The body was sent for post-mortem examination. A forensic team was called from Hazaribag to assist in the investigation, a police officer said.
In a written complaint lodged at Barhi police station, Manikant’s father accused one of his son’s colleagues of murder. The matter is being investigated from all angles, police added.
“We are probing the allegations and awaiting the post-mortem report. Appropriate action will follow based on findings,” an officer of the Barhi police station said.
