Gang of inter-state robbers held in Ramgarh

Ramgarh: A special investigation team of the district police on Tuesday arrested four members of a gang of robbers. Four country-made pistols, 21 live cartridges, fake Aadhaar and Pan cards were also seized from their possession. The police said the gang had been involved in the robbery of several banks and jewellery stores across Jharkhand and Bihar in the past 15 years.

Addressing a press conference, Ramgarh SP Ajay Kumar said the gang looted a jewellery merchant in Koderma valley on Ranchi-Patna highway in 2021. Those arrested were identified as Rupesh Vishwakarma (Palamu), Dheeraj Mishra (Buxar in Bihar), Rahul Yadav (Aurangabad in Bihar) and Saurabh Ram (Palamu). The gang recently made an unsuccessful bid to rob a jewellery store in Ramgarh, the police said.
