Fashion, heavy metal rule Day 4 of Bitotsav

Ranchi: The fourth day of Bitotsav 2016, Ranchi's biggest youth fest organized by the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra's - in association of The Times of India - was a day dedicated to fashion and heavy metal music as popular Indian heavy metal band Girish and The Chronicles performed during Band Night at the BIT campus on Saturday.
Stomp the yard, conducted by Dance Club of BIT Mesra, saw teams from BIT Mesra, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela, St Xavier's college, Kolkata, Central University of Jharkhand and others fighting for the top spot in street dancing.The participating teams delivered some spectacular performances, pulling off some brilliant street-dance moves. Team Falcon from NIT, Rourkela, finally stole the cake and State This team from St Xavier's College, Kolkata, ended up as the runners-up at the event.
The official fashion pageant of Bitotsav 2016 - Mr and Miss Bitotsav - saw pairs of students walking up the ramp with panache. However, the show wasn't only about fashion as the participants were asked some really tricky questions in the final round. The results of the show will be declared during Pro Night on Sunday.
A plethora of other competitions like face painting, solo singing, poetry writing, monologues etc were also organized during the day. Sumo wrestling competitionsaw the participants enter the rings in teams of two and their fight made for an interesting watch.
Murder Investigation had the students turning sleuths to unravel a murder mystery on the campus. The participating teams were given heads up in the form of clues which led the teams to take over the campus to solve the puzzle. The Pro Night on Sunday will see former front-man of Indipop band Silk Route and noted playback singer Mohit Chauhan performing on the final night of the fest.
