RANCHI: A 65-year-old resident, Krishna Singh, of Mausi Badi died of cardiac arrest late on Saturday night, hours after he was served eviction notice by the district administration.
On Saturday, Indradev Handi, in his 50s, died of heart attack in Dhanbad after being evicted from his house, his family said.
Singh had been staying in Mausi Badi in Ranchi's Jagannathpur for the past 40 years.

"On Saturday night, my father was very upset over the notice and was wondering where to go," said Anant Singh.
The Singhs were among the displaced population of the Heavy Engineering Corporation (HEC) and had been staying at the residential colony.
Anant Singh said on Sunday morning when he went to wake up his father, he found him dead. "He had died of shock," he said adding that the family of five, including three children, didn't know if their house would be demolished.
Meanwhile, the indefinite hunger strike to protest the the anti-encroachment drive by ex-serviceman Rameshwar Singh entered the fifth day on Sunday.
Singh has been agitating to attract the attention of governor M O H Farook to the plight of displaced. Islam Nagar residents on Sunday staged a daylong dharna near Raj Bhavan, demanding rehabilitation. They shouted slogans against the district administration for the drive.
From Monday, residential quarters of the HEC, which were occupied illegally, will be vacated by the company and the district administration. A notice has been served and deadline of April 18 has been set. More then 300 quarters have been illegally occupied.
