ED continues IAS officer’s interrogation

Ranchi: The enforcement directorate (ED) on Friday continued the custodial interrogation of the suspended IAS officer, Pooja Singhal, her husband Abhishek Jha and Jha’s chartered accountant Suman Kumar at its zonal office here.
The central agency is questioning them on the Rs 18 crore MGNREGA scam, money laundering, seizure of cash and incriminating documents seized during searches, investment in Pulse hospital located at Bariyatu here and other issues for the last several days.
During questioning, Singhal developed health issues again and a doctor was called from the district hospital to examine her. Dr R K Jaiswal, who checked Singhal, advised her to do yoga, including savasana, to cope with the pressure of interrogation. He said, “I told her to remain happy even in the adverse situation. We are checking her at regular intervals to ensure that she is okay.”
