Dhanbad: The strike called by the employees of Dhanbad municipal corporation (DMC) on Tuesday morning was called off on Wednesday afternoon after mayor Chandra Shekher Agarwal assured the employees that he will look into their demands. The employees went on strike to protest against the misbehaviour of the mayor and his aides. During the meeting, delegates also raised other issues and grievances like pending payment, jobs on compensatory grounds etc.

Junior engineer, Bhagwan Tiwari, while speaking to the media said that the mayor has assured that there would not be any kind of misbehaviour by any one in future. He added that other grievances of employees would be looked into and addressed at the earliest.
The mayor, however, denied any misbehaviour with any of the employees. "There has not been any misbehaviour with any employee. I understand that there are grievances which will be looked into and addressed as soon as possible," said mayor.
The cleanliness work that was stalled on Wednesday morning resulting in garbage dumping in many parts of the city, was started after the strike was called off.
