RANCHI: Ranchi police on Saturday claimed to have solved murder mystery, based of the Forensic Science laboratory (FSL) report, of noted builder Raj Kumar Dhanooka who was killed recently.
Police also produced a member of the gang, Sonu alias Mohammad Imroz, in front of the media here on Saturday. A country-made revolver, two live cartridges and gun powder were said to have been recovered from him.
"Sonu is the prime accused and the person who shot Sushil Minz, an eatery owner, on March 7 on the behest of his boss Lakhan Singh alias Vikas Singh," said SSP Praveen Singh
He said Sonu received a reward of Rs 1.30 lakh from Lakhan Singh for carrying out the Minz killing.
He said Sonu used to stay on rented accommodation at Kadru under Argora locality on rent paid by Singh.
"A 9 mm pistol recovered by police from the hideout Lakhan Singh gang at Krishna Puri locality of Chutia on March 24 is the same weapon by which Dhanooka was shot," the SSP said.
"The FSL matched the bullets with the 9 mm pistol recovered in the raid and it has been established that it is the same weapon by which the builder was shot thrice on March 14. This proves the handiwork of same gang," the SSP said.
Singh refused to answer the query whether it was contract killing or murder for extortion by Lakhan Singh gang.
