Dhanbad: To commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of India’s Iron Man, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the ministry of youth affairs and sports, will organise a padyatra (unity march) in every parliamentary constituency across the country. As part of this initiative, a similar event will be held in Dhanbad on November 7.
Addressing a press conference in Dhanbad, member of parliament Dulu Mahato shared details about the upcoming march. He said the event aims to inspire the youth by highlighting Sardar Patel’s life, contributions, and dedication towards national unity and integration.
“The padyatra is being organised to spread the message of unity, integrity, and nation-building among citizens, especially the younger generation,” said Mahato. “Through this march, we want to remind people of Sardar Patel’s unmatched role in uniting the nation and promoting the spirit of brotherhood.”
The Dhanbad MP further informed that the event will be jointly organised by the Government of India, the National Service Scheme (NSS), and the office of the member of parliament. Two major processions will be held, one in Dhanbad and another in Chirkunda, and Mahato himself will take part in the march along with local youth and volunteers.
