Dhanbad Police Resolve 73 More Cases Than Registered in March, Pending Cases Drop Significantly

Dhanbad: A total of 337 criminal cases were registered by Dhanbad police in March, while 410 cases were successfully disposed of. This means that 73 additional cases were resolved as compared to the number registered. This was revealed during a monthly crime review meeting held on Friday by senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar for the month of March.

SSP Kumar said, “The number of pending cases has dropped to 1,935 from around 4,300 in May last year. This is the result of proactive policing, continuous monitoring, improved efficiency, clear accountability, and time-bound action by officers at all levels.”

The positive trend must continue to further reduce the burden of pending cases, he told senior personnel including SP (Rural) Kapil Chaudhary and SP (City) Ritvik Srivastava.

The SSP directed all police station in-charges to execute at least 50% of pending warrants. Additionally, out of nearly 1,000 pending unnatural death cases, instructions were given to ensure the prompt disposal of at least 500 cases.

The meeting also addressed security arrangements for the Jharkhand Excise Constable Competitive Examination scheduled on April 12. High alert has been issued, with directives for tight security, CCTV surveillance and deployment of patrolling teams at all examination centres.

SSP Kumar urged citizens to promptly report any criminal activity, extortion or threats. He also warned that strict action would be taken against anyone attempting to disrupt law and order in the district.
