Devotees distribute food among poor

Ranchi: Bakrid celebrations on Sunday marked sacrifices to remember the sacrifice of Ibrahim and Ismael.
Anjuman Islamia secretary Mushtaq Ahmed said, “Everyone celebrated the day with their loved ones, observed sacrificial rituals, and prayed to Allah.”
Angada resident and social worker Shahnaz Khatoon said this year’s Barkrid celebrations meant cooking and distributing the delectable dishes prepared on the occasion among the needy.
“Upholding the values of sacrifice and harmony of Bakrid, we divided the food into four parts. We distributed the first portion among the poor, the second among relatives, the third among our poor neighbours, and the last among family members,” she said.
