Ratan Kumar encouraged them to instill a sense of self-respect among students'. DEO P P Jha also issued a 24-point charter to improve the quality of education in Lohardaga.
Addressing them at Chunni Lal High School's conference hall, the DC said teachers must not look at their work as just another job.
He said that apart from imparting textbook lessons, a teacher's duty includes helping students achieve their dreams. "Promote self-respect in students by telling them stories of great people like Nehru, Kalam, Ambedkar and other scholars. Education is the key to solve all problems, but it takes time to change things. Similarly, the education system will take time to show the results of the efforts made today. Teachers must be patient and relentlessly pursue their mission," he said.
The meeting continued without for five hours as the DEO issued a 24-point charter of directions. He instructed teachers to follow approved lesson plans, ensure proper revision of lessons and organize a 15 minute session before classes to help the students recall what was taught in the previous class among others
